How are these? I was thinking of ordering the drop in barrel for my encore. They advertise a 1 in 36 inch twist. I'm not looking to go sabotless, so im good with the .50 caliber. This will be a deer hunting gun.
When looking at the loads they suggest, the velocities aren't as high as I can get with my ML2, in fact I can load BH209 to run close to 2k before my accuracy drops off...
Anyway, my concern is with the breech plug and accuracy. Are they accurate? A good investment? What type of breech plug/vent liners???
I'm trying to keep the costs down, but still have a good gun for deer hunting.
Thank you for your suggestions

Myers posted a pick of one of their breech plugs some time ago and the work looked real shoty.

Breechplug is short with a rear seal shoulder. At the time when they built my .45 on a Ruger #1, they were not using vents. I had mine specified to be tapped for a Savage style vent. They didn't countersink the face enough so leakage through the vent threads became an issue, eventually the threads would get sloppy and the plug would need replaced. Not sure vents are still available. They used Douglas barrels so accuracy should be good. If a .45 is legal, I would get one of Luke's Encore barrels with his rear seal plug with a bushing. You could still shoot saboted 40 cal bullets and sabot less would still be on the table if you change your mind down the road. Resale value would probably be better also. Quality is probably better too.

I haven't been following the latest trends here, who is Luke? Luke is the owner/operator of Arrowhead Sporting Goods, look him up online.
