Pick up the Apex 45-70 at the FFL's that I got from Carlos I cleaned the barrel I have to say the bore is so very smooth. Carlos installed a set of DNZ medium height mounts and I mounted a Vortex scope. Later I am going to send it too be converted, but for now I am going to shoot it as is. Also I am going to get a better scope later on. Will let you know how it shoots.

I bought my Apex 45-70 for the same reason but after shooting it I decided to leave it as is.

What bullet and powder did you shoot I shot some 405 gr. lead and wasn't impressed at all, they were all over the place. I guess jacketed bullets may be the ticket?

I shot my 405 cast with 26gr of IMR sr4759 and with that bullet I also use 50.5 gr of IMR 4320. With a Berrys 350gr plated I use 26 or 29gr of sr4759. Also worked up two loads for the 250gr GMX mono and they are 35gr of sr4759 and 55.7 grains of H322

I appreciate the load information but I always look up the loads just to make sure and always reduce the load at least 10% and then sneak up to the suggested loads.

I do the same for most powders but the IMRsr4759 GMX load is unlisted.
