I got an email from a guy asking if his .300 Win Mag Load was too Hot. He said his average velocity was 3,278 fps & his cases had bright shiny plunger marks. Next comment, " the ammo you loaded for me 12 years ago was 79.0 grs of IMR-7828 with a 180 gr Barnes TSX and I'm only using a 175 gr Barnes LRX". I informed him that I had used the "Old" Long Cut Dupont IMR-7828 not the New IMR-7828 SSC & the 180 gr Barnes TSXs were MOLY COATED!!! I also asked why he shot (5) of them. "wanted to get the velocity average". I also asked, don't you know if you are getting .30-378 WBY velocity something is WRONG!!! What ever happened to Working Up a Load???

I've always said there is a huge difference between a hand loader and a reloader. Amongst reloaders there are guys who are safe because they know their limits and don't stray, there are guys who know enough to push the limits but stay safe, and there are guys who are ignorant and dangerous. A handloader is a different animal all together.
