I've ordered a Brux barrel from Luke to convert an ML10 to 45 cal. Need load data just to get an idea where to start. Will probably start shooting saboted bullets to start and switch to sabotless later. What powders and bullets is everybody using for 45. It is a 1 in 20 twist

58-62 gr H4198 under a harvester smooth blue stuffed with a 200gr xtp/sst/shockwave or 195 barnes works really well.

Leaning to the sst's now. I have imr4198 on hand. Not sure if I can find H4198. May have to take an hour ride to find it and that's if I get lucky

I would just use the IMR. 56-60gr, as if I remember right it burns a tad bit hotter than H4198. My pacnor will shoot the HSB 195bx and 60gr of H4198 sub moa. Great 300 yard deer slayer. To bad I can't use it in my state

I have used IMR and H4198 nearly interchangeably without any problems in the .45 but I have not went over 60 grains, not the huge loads.

What about sabots and other powder options for 45. I also have a ML10 II shooting 42gr. of N110. I know from reloading centerfire with a lighter bullet you can increase the charge. Can you do the same with ML's

42gr of N110 in a 45 with sabots will probably blow the sabot every time. IIRC around 32-35gr is going to be about all the 45cal sabot is gunna handle.

Can you do the same with ML's What caliber is your ML10II? I use 42gr of N110 in my SMI douglas .50 with great results. It's a great powder. You absolutely can go up or down in powder, within limits. You need to stay within some rough parameters though, like enough of a given speed of powder under a given bullet to ensure adequate pressure for ignition, and not too much so you don't create an over pressure situation, but the sky is the limit. These are basically single shot hand loaded centerfires. You can run a light bullet at 1200 fps with almost non existant recoil for young shooters or really heavy bullets at mind boggling speeds and recoil levels. Basically if you have a specific goal in mind that you want to accomplish, with the right choice of loads you can do it. Just look at all the pressure trace data TG has amassed over the years. If you want to do it, there's most likely a way and the info is here. If you can't find it, just ask.

I shoot sabot less 290gr TEZ Barnes with 69gr of IMR4198 and a lubed wad Win 209. My son has killed a deer each year so far with it. I have a Redfield Accurange scope 3-9x50 it makes it easy to use the hold overs.

Same load in my SMI douglas except in it I use an HCR. Sub moa if I do my part.
I have a Weaver Classic Extreme 2.5x10x50 with the German #4 illuminated dot reticle on my rempac .45. Awesome scope.
