My son and I hit the Lake around 6:30 and started throwing the cast net and came up with some gills to help bait the lines with. Then we commenced to setting yo-yos and bank poles. We started by setting the yo-yos and we only put out 2 bank poles before we started hauling in channels. It was fast and furious until the trolling battery indicator broke my heart and was on the last bar so we had to cut the night short...but we will be back next weekend with 2 new extra marine batteries on board...lol This was by far the best avg. by weight on channel cats that I have ever experienced at a 6lb average. with the largest weighing in at 11 lbs. We vacuum sealed and froze 25.5 lbs of fillets. We fried a nice mess of fillets tonight for dinner...

You use live bait for cats, I know some folks use wads of worms, or balls of dough, but live batfish I never heard that.

Live 4-6 inch gills for the Flatheads. All of the above channel cats were caught on chicken liver with the 1 exception and that was on a blue. Flatheads prefer live bait while channels prefer dead bait.
