Thursday was different because there was only the night crusade. That day we visited an orphanage and left enough rice to feed them for a year. The rest of the day was spent re-bagging rice into 25# bags to feed the widows. That meager bag would sustain them for 3 months. When a woman becomes a widow if there is no son to become the head of the house; then the husband's family comes in and takes over any possessions they might have and put the widow out the hut into the bush to survive on her own or die. It is a terrible shame.
That night in the crusade I preached against their terrible custom and talked of the love we are to have for one another. I also preached on the gifts of the Spirit for them. I also offered to them the plan of salvation. Many came to be saved. Many came to be healed. Which they were by the power of God.
Friday was much like Thursday in that we worked to bag the rice. Friday night Johny Preached and more came for salvation and for me to pray for those who came to be healed. Friday night was the end of the crusade.
To our best calculation there was a total of over 1,000 people saved. And over 700 healed in the crusade. We averaged 3,200 people in attendance for the crusade per night. ALL GLORY TO THE FATHER, SON, AND HOLY GHOST.
On Saturday we gave out the 25# bags of rice to feed 2,600 widows that came walking from every direction for days just to receive the rice. I realized too late that these were the poorest of the poor and that most of them had not attended the crusade. A fact that I would not forget the next trip to Nigeria.
On Sunday we went into a small city and we split up and preached in different small churches that were waiting for us. I believe we each preached in 3 churches a piece that day.
On Monday we started on our journey home and after a round trip of 18,000 miles and 10 different jets and one old bus. 5 men and all luggage returned home.
I have left out so much, such as mothers trying to give us their babies to bring them back to the USA. So that they might have a chance for a good life here. I left out the corruption of their military police. Where all the population is afraid of abuse. Almost no medical care or emergency service. After we left I found out one of my Nigerian friends was in an accident and died the next day of internal injuries because there was no one to help him. Poverty so bad that when I came back home I began to feel guilty because we have so much and they have almost nothing. Our poor are rich compared to most of the people I met while there. There is just too much detail to include in simple posts.
It is my hope that those of you who have read this know by now I only want to give glory to God. I will not touch what belongs only to him. All miracles were done through the name of Jesus by the working of The Holy Ghost. I am only a witness of the outrageous manifestations of his work. I have no control over it. All I can do is ask for him to show up. But I am without proper words to declare how glad I am to be there when He shows up!!!
The next trip is to Brazil.
Be blessed in Jesus name,
Rev. Mike
