Been on the waiting list for one of these. I wanted a .243 Winchester but this one showed up in .308 Win so when I got the call I jogged on over and snatched it up:

Normally, I say friends don't let friends shoot rugers, but that looks pretty sweet.

Two of my friends ended up with them and they shot well so decided to grab one because the LGS called and said they had one for the right price. The biggest incentive to me was LRI decided they were worth making parts for so barrel changes are a snap. So far this one shoots sub-MOA with a smattering of groups half that size. I'm dragging it out to the 1000m range tomorrow.

How did it do?

It was really windy but the load will hold 1MoA of elevation. I put 10 rounds down range at 600m and 30 at 1000m. Any shots outside of X or 10 were missed wind calls. Load was 175gn SMK over RL15 and needed 11.2 MRAD of elevation and 2-3 MRAD wind with an MV of 2705fps.
Sorry, no pics. I did take a bunch of video of a buddy shooting through my spotter to help guys with wind on here.

Sounds like a good time and a good shooting rifle! Glad the 308 version is shooting well for you.

Steve,
I'll do you one better...I have video. I just have to figure out how to compress it so that it will post. I took a lot of wind footage to help those who have laser rifles that don't drift in the wind they can't read.

Keith, Create a youtube account, if you haven't already, upload it to that then post the link. I've uploaded very large video files there.

I need to do that for the few times I take video. I don't spend much time shooting video because I usually have range work to do. The only time I sit around and have that sort of idle time on my hands is when I'm spotting on the KD range. We had a new shooter so I took a lot of video of his shooting in the mirage he saw with me calling off the Kestrel every wind change so he can review them vice what he was seeing and compare how wind at his position is not at all what wind at the 900, 700, and 400m flags is or what the mirage on the target berm is doing.

If you don't have 30 minutes of free time, well you need a break!

Rambler,
I meant I don't have 30 minutes or more every time I hit the range to film. I usually shoot alone or with one other guy. I'm more interested in shooting than being a movie star. The only reason I had time to film this weekend was because we only brought one 600yds target and one 1000yds target and we took turns shooting (3 of us shooting 10-20 round strings) while one guy pulled targets in the pits. One guy spotted and talked wind with the shooter while I spotted and talked wind on the video (plus the extraneous commentary about rifle mags a new shooter kept asking about that you can hear on the video).
