Hello all! Another ML newbie joining the fold! I'm up here in the Calgary area of Alberta and have 2 Savage 10ML-II's.... Haven't fired either yet, but have slowly been collecting powder and shortly will be looking for both sabot's and projectiles.. Deer and elk will be the target animals.
I purchased one of the Cabela's Mossy Oak camo with blackened barrel models new, and later found a much prettier stainless with laminate stock model used.. I got the camo one since I hadn't seen one for sale in a long time..I think Cabela's did a one time run of them?
Anyhow, I'm completely new to ML's and am looking forward to learning as much as I can about the various choices of projectiles. I have four pounds of Accurate 5744 and one pound of V-110. Powder has been rare in these area's so when I see it, I have to research vary quickly and get it or walk away. (I saw a Big jug of 3031 recently that had me drooling but I was unable to find out it's suitability in the Savage at the time..)
Anyhow, that's a little bit about me! I'm looking forward to searching the board and meeting the members!
thanks, Russ.

Welcome to Doug's. I suggest that you check out Arrowhead Sporting Goods. Luke is a supporter of this site and our ADDICTIONS. He sells sample packs of components, which is a good way to test various products. You need to start with sabots from either MMP or Harvester, JMO. My Savage likes the ASG 310 (.458) grain bullet sitting in a Harvester smooth black sabot. Another powder to consider is H4198. First and Foremost is SAFETY. By all means, learn what a witness mark is on your ramrod!!! I also suggest buying a good quality range rod, for your practice sessions. Take it SLOW and pay attention to details. Develop a system, for loading your SML, and stick to it. Never be in a hurry, or let other distract you. Spend some serious time on this site and you will save yourself hours of time. I almost forgot, have FUN.
