I use to use Re-7 in my Savage 65.0 grains 250 grain bullet with some very good groups. At that time I liked the load so much I bough 5# of it. Any one here use it and with what bullets and what results. Thanks Lou

I use 63 gr of it with Luke's 310 APB and a black crush rib sabot in my Sav 10 ml II. It shoots about 3/4 inch at 100 yds in my rifle. I have to resize the bullet to about .453 to be able to load it though. My SAV. has a very tight barrel. I then put a very slight knurl on the bullet. This load is safe in my rifle but I cannot speak for others.

I have been using 67gr RL7 with 325gr Hornady FTX in orange MMP sabots. This gets me under 1" at 100yds in a stock Savage MLII.

How come more hasn't been said about this powder? From what I've read it's a pretty good load?

When I get my Rem 700 ML build I am going to give re-7 w/o a sabot to see what results I get. I used a crush rib black sabot in my Savage ML'er II So I am really interested in sabot less loads. When Rossman 40 has it done I will start low and increase a grain at a time. I have a sizing die and two files to knurl. This will be un-chartered territory for me. So is there any documented starting load? I will be using a variety of bullets to see what shines Thanks Lou

I will be shooting a 45 caliber Brux Barrel, boyd's thumb hole (Jacarda) Rem 700 ML All the necessary things for Rossman40 to build it for me. He now has all the things from Luke I met up with him and gave him the action and stock Now just wait.Only thing I need now is a base I have the scope and rings. In Delaware we have a late Deer season Pistol, Shotgun and ML'er season each a week long so I will have to rely on my knight as I hate using a shot gun Happy New Year Every one Lou

I have used re 7 sabotless and really only use it for target as it is just about using it up before my main hunting loads. I shoot 65 gr. with 275 BE's and it seems to shoot as good as I am capable, sometimes one holers on out to about an inch and a quarter. I do use lubed wads which may help in maintaining bore consistency as it seems to be rather 'dirty'. I would think you could go to the mid 70's in charge weights as it seems to not generate as much pressure as the 4198's.

Ken does great work. He made a breech plug for my break open that has worked great. Early congrats.

Love me some RL7. 65gr and a BO with BCR gets me MOA out to 200 and that is as far a range as I have to shoot. I bought enough to last a while so unless something changes I’m not changing either.
