Anyone have experience with these scopes? Glass quality, clearity, ect..... Figured I would ask around on other boards as well. I have a Trijicon and Zeiss HD5 I am very pleased with. How does the Huskemaw compare to others in The $1200 price point?

I looked over one of the early 3-12s and was not impressed, had a real fine crosshair that IMO would be OK on a a target rifle but not a hunting gun where your dealing with shadows and low light conditions. I have several customers that have the newer 5-20X56s with the 34mm tube and they like them. I think the discontinued that model and morphed it into a $2800 tactical with a 6X erector so it is now a 5-30. They give a heck of a sales pitch that is a lot of smoke but it suckers guys that do not know optics right in. The scopes come off the line at Light Optical Works in Japan.
What is weird Huskemaw was started by the guy that owns Gunwerks (Aaron Davidson) but if you buy one of the Gunwerks high dollar rifles it comes with a custom Nightforce. They also own/owned the production company that does the Best Of The West and another show, Long Range something. One guy said he hunted the same outfitter as the Best of the West guys and heard they wounded more deer then they killed.

Good stuff Ken, I know guys who have them and living out west they're somewhat popular. I've looked at them and was'nt impressd either. That long range show gave hunting a bad rap, most the time they could have got close but did'n't. We owe the respect to the animal to get as close as we can to eliminate any wounding if possible, Ray

Do yourself a favor , look at the Shepherd scopes, I have 2 of them and love them. Also have some of the Leupold scopes but I like the Shepherd better. I agree with Rossman 40 on the Huskemaw, I think they are over priced...
