Went to pick up a chair at one area I left last night, before moving everything to another area tonight. Figured I better take gun just in case. Got to the field, some deer at the end, 500-600+yds. Hmmm. Better take the chance and put the sneak on them. Made it thru the weeds and briars about half way. Belly crawled in field and got ready. RemPac, 25", WCE 4x16, 10/60 sr4759/h4198, 300sst, ccim, 2700~fps. Figured 300yd, held at spine, fired, deer looked like I was a bother, kept feeding while working towards brush. No speedloads with me, in truck because I wasn't even going hunting yet. So made it back to truck with chair, decided to reload and head back. Got in same field but closed the gap approx. 100yd. Laid in weeds prone with gun on bipod. Finally big doe came out, coming straight on, put the cross hair on throat. Fired and she crumpled on impact. Recovered bullet is 230.3 grains. Beautiful. I went back and ranged the shot, 242yds! So first shot miss was easily 350yd~.

The bullet path shattered the spine in the neck, and continued thru the first foot of spine and backstraps, stopping under the hide on top of its back. So a fair amount of resistance and the bullet looks great in my opinion. We'll keep on trucking with this one now. Smooth sized, medium loading pressure, and an easy going load. Actually shoots better with 70gr h4198 than the duplex, but I am too chicken little to trust a single ever again.
