Today my goal was to check velocities and drop to 400 yards. I was trying to get to 2700fps however I'm going to settle with 2600fps. My load of choice is green dot/4198 7/63. I didn't have allot of time so no group pictures. I shot a little under 2" group at 200 yards and adjusted scope to zero. After zero I packed up chrono and headed to 300 first shot was high so made a small adjustment, bullseye! Headed to 400 yards and made adjustment according to strelok and shot, little high but showed the same result as 300 with first shot. So mental note to not adjust as high @ 400. I'll play around with app to see if I can get it to mimic what field results show. I'm super happy with the es on this load. I find it funny though that even though I'm shooting a little slower shotgun powder than clays for booster my results are 100fps slower than clays/4198. I used a bc in my app for 300 SST @ .250 so I'll play with that a touch to get it a little better. Next I'll do some more testing with the 300 bomb but don't feel I have time before I leave to Zen's place to do so.

Watching with interest. I'll be testing some of those in the upcoming weeks and months.

They better work! Lol. I am sitting on a pile of them now. Last year traded all my .458 saboted for 300sst/ftx for sabotless. MH's work great, but with price, scarcity in inventory, and 300yd max shooting where I am, I am sticking with budget bullets from now on. They do shoot very good for me over 10-60/4759-4198. Now just to kill something with them!

I thought about using that load also I have 3 lbs of 4759 left so I should be okay. Do you remember any pressure traces done on that load?

It is a safe, solid, time tested load now for sure. My gun shoots even better/faster with straight 70gr h4198, but I cant bring myself to non duplex after my first misfire on a big one with my 50. I did get a follow up shot thank god, and he now stares at me when I watch tv. Lol

Just looked thru database. 10-60dplx with 300xtp was 50k! Straight 70 was 48k! Didnt know they were that high, but I dont shoot alot so not worried. Plus, I am still using vent plugs and the Lehighs dont burn out too quick (50-60 shots?) so staying with what has worked.

Went back to 60gr n120 with 195bx in my SavPac. Shoots soooo good cant bring myself to stay away. Used 10-50 4759-4198 with 240xtp mag for woods shots in it and it kills like lightening. Just not a long range load of course. They all work when they shoot straight. Lol

Yeah from comparing my load to a load in pressure trace on blue dot/4198 (which isn't apples to apples) my load should be around 47k. Going to finish season out with this load and might be rebarreling my gun with a shillen. Would like to get to single loads if I can. From what I've been seeing the new plug by Luke might be the ticket.
