Thanks guys, I appreciate the comments. Before I forget I'd like to give a big kudos to Luke at Arrowhead Sporting Goods who had the barrel and other hardware in stock and johnny on the spot. Not to mention he takes plastic. I started this build just 2 months ago. 2 years ago it was taking up to a year to get what I have. I joined this board looking for answers and insight on how to build a smokeless muzzle loader. I started out small and had an H&R converted with a Douglas barrel. It shoots great for what it is and make no mistake it can and will put meat in the freezer, but couldn't handle the hotter loads. After countless hours of reading, research, posting, asking questions, PM'ing, establishing friends and contacts I finally came to the decision to have this gun and it's components put together. I want to give a shout out to all on this board that have helped me out over these past two years, your insight and experience has been an invaluable asset and resource. I can't thank you all enough. And lest I forget, an extra special thank you to 12ptdroptine who played an instrumental part in getting this project headed in the right direction. Russell I blamed you when my wife asked about the credit card bill lol. Steve.

Al I bought all the parts as I said from Luke and stock from Boyds. I still do not have the expertise and equipment to take off and put barrels. I'll never have the equipment to do the machining. I had it built. Can't wait to fire it off.

What do you figure the weight is on the rifle... I'm not sure. I don't have a scale of any kind, I lifted a 10lb weight, then lifted the gun and there was little difference. Maybe 10lb-ish. Not as much as some of these real heavy long barreled guns we've seen here.

If you decide to sell the break open let me know I don't have any break open MZ's I may be interested? Your new gun looks great. Let us know how you like the stock Jon, This isn't your regular H&R 45/70 conversion. It has a Douglas 20X barrel , expertly installed. Tiny Boyer would occasionally shoot this very grade/brand of barrel. The barrel alone likely cost more than the original rifle complete. I expect the trigger was enhanced also. If you get this rifle, you'll have a winner.
