There are several types of lubricants used to lube cases before resizing. Which one do you like best and why?

I use the Lee water based resizing lube. apply between thumb and index and then apply to case . Let dry or size right away. Cleans up E-Z. Wipe case off with clean cloth after sizing .

I like the Imperial Die Wax, but last time I needed lube, they were out, so I got a tub of Hornady Unique. It works great and cleans up easily. It is less expensive than Imperial, and I think I like it better. Goes a long way. A tiny dab on your fingers does several cases. I quit using RCBS spray lubes, both aerosol and pump, because it got sticky. Possibly because it got old.

RCBS lube that came with my rockchucker. I rub 10 drops or so into the pad that comes with and I can lube a few hundred cases. Roll about 10 .243 shells at once. The key is not over doing it

After removing my first stuck case from the sizing die (without the special tool, and ruining a brand new die), I switched to Hornady One Shot ($10.00 per aerosol can), I have yet to have an issue. It seems to work well, and I have yet to use too much and have a bent case.

I have been using Imperial sizing die was for the past 17 years and am totally satisfied. Just a "little dab will do ya!" ;D Any of the suppliers that cater to the benchrest crowd will have it.....Bruno's Shooter Supply, Sinclair International, Russ Hayden, Robert Hart & Son. I have been using it also to size my .452" bullets for the .45 Pac-Nor sabotless. Richard

I agree on Imperial sizing wax. I find it does better than anything else I tried for full length sizing, reducing felt force that is. I have not tried hornady's verson though.

+3 on the Hornady One Shot. Used it to reload several 1000 cases to date and has worked perfectly as advertised. Arthur proof easy to use, little mess, cleans off super easy, extremely cheap as one can gos a loooooooong way, like everyone says it's great stuff. Just spray on LIGHTLY, let dry for 3-5 minuets, resize and your done. I use a cotton bore mop correct for caliber size to lube inside of case mouth.

I use the Imperial on belted mags and other such large cases. I use the Lee for smaller cases since it dries quickly and is easily removed for the outside of cases and insides of necks without having any chance for powder contamination. With most lubes less is more. I might note that I have the time and don't shoot volumes of ammo like a varmint shooter so the hand applied lube method works for me.

WD_40? Really? It is reported to be kind of hard on primer reliability.

+4 hornady one shot, simple and fast. No dimpled shoulders. But still use a little unique on the inside of my 220 swift brass. About every 5th brass. Have pulled the expander ball off my hornady dies before. Not a happy camper when that happens.

Make sure your cases are facing you, give um a shot, rotate um 180, one more shot and you will never look back Rusty

RCBS and the pad. With the small primer hole in Lapua brass I give the primer pocked a shot of Aero Kroil or WD-40. I always wash the brass in acetone before they go to the tumbler.

Imperial on the body and I dip the necks in Imperial Dry Neck Lube. SD's dropped when I started using the dry neck lube.

+5 on the Hornady One Shot. Used it to reload over 1400 combined cases in 338wm, 300wm, 7mm/stw, and 6.5x55 Swede. Never a single problem at all, awesome stuff.
Use to use the RCBS lube and pad, IMHO always was a true PITA to use and clean off, but it worked great. One Shot is as good or better with out the mess. I also spray a little One Shot in my reloading dies before I use them.
As I only neck size my brass, I made a wooden shell holder that only allows me to coat from the shoulder on up, so one can last for 100's and 100's of cases.

Another vote for One-Shot. Quick and easy, no clean up required before charging with powder.

One shot has given me trouble when I drop powder, sticks to the inside of case (messy when powder goes all over bench) . Went back to dry neck lube and RCBS for the case, Imperial, will have to locate some and give it a try!

While it may take longer to do, I tumble the brass after sizing in untreated media for an hour or so to remove all traces of sizing wax (I use imperial).
When I first started reloading metallic, nobody said to remove it, but I did wipe off the cases (although in hindsight not enough). I was getting high pressure readings from minimum loads due to wax residue on the outside of the cases, letting them slide in the chamber when fired.

I have been using Hornady Unique. It comes in a 4 oz. tub and it makes the case slicker than anything else I have used. Far better than one shot in my opinion. One shot is quicker and doesn't get on your fingers if you let it dry, but unique just seems to work far better. Especially if you are necking cases up or down.
