Showed up today: It will be my new hunting rifle scope (had to measure for ring height ): I'll run it through the runner when I get home in a few weeks but I leave tomorrow. It's first big test will be on an AR15 at Mammoth.

Nice looking scope Keith, the Elite's I have are all very repeatable and the coatings are pretty high light transmission. I like the target knobs---pretty radical departure from the older style!! Looking forward to it's performance evaluation.

Thanks, Tim. So far it looks and feels good. I just mounted it in a pair of Seekins rings today and plan to test it this upcoming week.

Talking to Bill Travis on the phone today made me remember I need to test this thing out so that I can get the .308 and 6.5 onto the 1000m KD range without swapping over scopes in a couple of weeks. Mounted it up on the .308 today and will get it tested out this week when we take a long weekend for Thanksgiving:

I took it out last weekend with my SML. I shot one round after boresight and it was 1 MRAD low, shot 2 more then came up .1 and right .1, shot two then said good enough: I took it home and ran it through the full range of adjustment in all four directions. I went back to the range today and shot a cold bore round, one to confirm my normal lack of shift, then dialed up 10MRAD then back down and shot RTZ: I then ran a Tall Target Test like I did with my HDMR when I got it and replaced my Nightforce BEAST as my PRS optic. It wasn't quite as good as my HDMR but it was very good:

Pretty good results to 10mil and that will get you out plenty far for most shooters.

Have you ever done a wind adjustment check on a scope? I've only done a track check once with my Nikon and it seemed correct.
My vortex hp elevation seems correct but not so much on windage adjustment???

I usual box test windage because I don't dial wind. I check the reticle for windage since I hold wind and the etched reticle never changes.

Something I saw the other day when I checked my zero is that when I adjusted windage it didn't seem to adjust correctly. However every time I've ever tried to correct for wind using windage adjustment it never follows what strelok says to adjust for??
I'll have to do more testing

Was the windage adjustment that didn't track something you checked when you got to Zen's and it was just off? As in got bumped? Or was the wind blowing and you had a shift? Because it that was the case I would have shot it based on my no wind zero and called it good. Either way, I have found that with a lot of sport optics that they need to wake up when you dial small adjustments. I will click past where I want to be then bring them back. If it is something that is wildly off, say from just a boresight, I don't make exact adjustments. I make bold adjustments (again, waking up the adjustments) then make small adjustments for zeroing.
As for Strelok not matching up, I think it could be a couple of things. First and most likely is incorrect estimation of wind; ie you say it is 8mph and it is really 5mph or you guess 8mph and it actually is 8mph but only 3/4 value. The other issue could be that the calculator is right and your adjustments are not sound/awake (test and check, test and check)so you don't actually get what you dialed on which is why I hold for wind since the etched reticle is always awake and accurate.
