First time trying to bed a synthetic stock. Didn't come out pretty but in think it will work. I haven't had a chance to shoot the rifle since I bedded it however I think it should be more accurate. I tried a redneck pillar set up and don't think that will work it seems like the bolts could be touching the inside of the pillars which I read isn't a good thing. I figure if I have to drill them out I will start the bedding process over all together try to make it pretty. Figured I'd see how it shoots first. I might just order a Boyds stock for it instead. Well see.

If it were me, I would drill the pillars out to the point the bolts weren't touching prior to testing. WHY? If the action bolts/screws are acting more like recoil lugs than the recoil lug itself, you will only be wasting time, ammo and money during your testing period.

X1 If the bolts are acting like a recoil lug you could shear one or both of them and have a ugly mess to clean up.

I cleaned up the inside of the pillars and that helped allot. However after messing around with the factory stock and seeing how the bedding flakes off I ordered a new Boyds tacticool stock off midway USA black for $110 shipped. Figured I couldn't go wrong with it. I'll order pillars sometime soon and then I should be set. I've been watching allot of YouTube videos on bedding and saw one where I liked how they added the pillars after bedding the action and letting it cure. Looked like allot less of a mess and more professionally done.
I thought about the Bobby Hart accublock stock but was advised against it because you still have to do a skim bed and I figured if I still have to bed I'll order a Boyds instead and save some money and still end up with a great stock.
Should see the stock Friday or Saturday.
