I have been to the last 2 shoots. Both times I leave somewhat sad....since it is over. But then again very happy to have seen old and made new friends. I have bever heard anything less than encouraging helpful...or thankful words from anyone there. All there to have a good time share friendships ...and throw some lead.... I noticed in them photos that I look a little bloated....that right there is all blamed on the kitchen staff..lol. Hey all it was a great time...cant wait to do it again.... Drop

Looks like a very good time. The collection of pro's all on a few acres. No arm chair critics present.
Would love to bring ugly Betty out there one year and have a chance at making a .50 compete. Is that possible? Before I retired the great power/accuracy load of 70+ gr H4198 and the FTX 325 gr and Harv BCR sabot, I really thought there was a chance to shoot the .50 at close to these levels. Probably not. Then we went center fire out here and all I do is lob huge chunks of lead @ real slow speeds to minimize meat damage on late season does. Ugly Betty has become a precise, close range meat cleaver in the late season.
You guys and your custom guns have surely set a benchmark of awesomeness. This entire gathering is epic. The worst guy on the line is in 1st place 15 yrs ago in regards to smokeless. Maybe exageration a little but you get my drift. Smokeless has come a long way.

Half the group pretty much stayed under MOA at each distance. As Richard said the final score was the group sizes added up so if you were under 6000 you averaged less then MOA. 3141 would have been .5 MOA and Kyle came pretty darn close so I guess that is the goal for the next match.
With the heat at the time these shoots are held, shooting with sabots would be tough. Charlie tries but the heat got him this spring and last weekend. But he still rang some steel at 300-350yds IIRC.

I had a great time. My current project is in for some sweet pieces n parts after what I learned at the shoot. I learned a whole bunch about sabotless. I enjoyed the bit of cooking I did and will contribute fried biscuits next time. the friendship top notch. Thanks Jeff for being such a great host. 10

That looks like one of the funest trips and activities I can think of. Are there any heckling rules? If I had been able to heckle Rich or Bill they would not be in the top ten. I'm glad this would not be mistaken for a yoga seminar. Me and my gut would fit right in -- and I do intend to make the spring shoot.

HAHA Oh c'mon! Dont you guys have hecklers at hunting camp? Put a crowd of guys together, there HAS to be some friendly banter and humor. I know in pretty much every circle ive been involved in, a bit of heckling usually leaves a smile, even on the heckled face. BUT its usually among guys who know each other well. I wouldnt start some of the antics I do among my close friends while in a new to me circle, and I know, they wouldnt either, (well mostly) A bit of friendly heckling shows comfort and friendship. Not so much pranks, or mean spirited. I have an uncle that likes to consider himself a bit of an intelect, he is constantly dropping bombs, that very often, most people dont even catch at first. It takes a minute of thinking to "catch up". I cant say how many times ive seen him throw one out and walk away, then a few minutes later, you see the bulb go on above the recipients face as he does a double take and turns to look at my uncle, who is usually long gone by then and off to test the waters in a different circle across the way.

Keith might be there, you can heckle him all ya like I work with professional hecklers who are borderline unethical. I guess it would be good if you are training for that sort of thing. At this gathering I believe politeness is the rule of the day.

Heckling and banter is fun and most participate to some degree. But when someone it settled in for a shot there are some things that are just proper etiquette . Like...if you are done shooting ..and the shooter next to you isn't... and is settled for his shot...one should show the courtesy of sitting there motionless until he gets the shot off...before getting up and moving. Just some range etiquette . Drop

Like...if you are done shooting ..and the shooter next to you isn't... and is settled for his shot...one should show the courtesy of sitting there motionless until he gets the shot off...before getting up and moving. Just some range etiquette . Drop I worked for a gun range for a decade and never saw anyone that courteous. I've started RO'ing matches this year and while guys are courteous nobody is going into golf crowd mode. I've shot 300 to 500 rounds a day for the last 3 weeks and guys are moving around each other the whole time. The the only consideration was trying to give a guy some room if we were swapping over to unsuppressed and re-zeroing so that you don't have to dodge hot brass and blast from the break. We try to talk guns too but when there are a bunch of you shooting you will inevitably break your shot when someone else does. I would think as long as you are safe, not BS'ing while you load, and don't bump a dude's bench you are good. I don't think you need to sit like a statue while your adjacent shooter is on his gun.

I try to do it out of courtesy... The shot is about concentration and execution. I find it harder to accomplish with someone moving around my bench distracting me. It's the same way in archery. When you are on a line with shooters on each side of you. You execute your shot . If they are at draw you wait for them to make their shot before you turn and leave the Line. It's common range etiquette among archers. Same principal applies here in my book. Not saying anyone else has to practice this. But ai appreciate it when they do ...and try to return the same courtesy Drop
