Well, Freddy is back in my hands so I also took it to the range today to pull the trigger a few times. This is the same gun I had last year, I just had Cole do some breech plug and head spacing work on it for me and give it a new look. It's on a savage ML2 action, 25" .392/.400 Pacnor barrel, B&C Tactical Medalist stock, Timney trigger, Viper HS 4-16x50, savage style .030 bushing plug. My first 3 shots I couldn't find until they opened a hole in the backer that I could see from 100 yards, so I dialed up the scope and got the last 2 shots almost cutting the same hole, that load was 10/65, N110/Varget. Since I didn't have any more of them to shoot for a group, I tried another new load of 10/60, 4759/3031 with a 200sst, Wool wad and win primer. This is the second group out of the reworked gun. It's still a shooter... Here's the gun: Here's the group with 4759/3031:

Sweet looking gun it almost looks like Cole might be graduating from assembler to builder

Thanks all. Forgot to give Cole some of his credit due, he also added a new bolt handle with tactical knob and some new lower Burris Tactical rings to get the scope down from where it was before and rebedded the whole gun after the 10 gal paint job. This gun was a shooter for Omega and continues to be for me as well, it's definitely a great build that performs. Looking forward to some cool weather to chase that 1 hole group.

You already have the one hole group, it is just a bit triangular now.

Great shooting! Love the gun! What do you think the max velocity for that bullet is?

Great shooting! Love the gun! What do you think the max velocity for that bullet is? I'm not real sure about that, I figure that load shoulda been around the 2900fps range out of this gun. I only use them to punch paper (not that they wouldn't be a good deer bullet) but if I were to hunt with them, I'd likely try to keep them 2700fps or under. I can see how fast one will go out of the tank "Axis" if you like..

Magic is magic . An ordinary shooter would not get such tight groups from so many different rifles . Don't gorget Dad's rifle that you tested on that windy day last fall . Shot from the ol' picnic table back in the hollow . Chris
