I have a smoker kit from arrowhead sporting goods. Recently I have had some group issues just starting to widen. I had spent the last 150 shots out of the gun on steel where it might not have been a noticeable issue. Now back on paper it is obvious, shooting 2 and 3 inch groups where they used to be 1 inch or less. I am going to order some spares for sure, but I wondered what is the longevity shot wise of these liners? I know I have over 400 shots through it with 75 grains of 3f since February. I know I would have gone through a plug or two in my other rifle.
If I can get my groups back I will be thrilled.

Pick up a torch tip cleaner set and use little cleaners to guage vent with and measure largest cleaner that will go with micrometer. If needed i be glad to ck for ya. If screw in vent they will gas cut. One advantage in future when do barrel conversion get a bushing plug and gas cutting vent will be over.

Ok, trying to get through the season with this setup then conversion time. I will see if my cleaners will do it, if not I will get with you. My groups are really bad compared to what it shot in May. I shot those Barnes bullets you gave me they shoot good in my gun.

I am able to get the .029 cleaner in it but not the .034 I ordered a couple Lehigh replacements. They should arrive tomorrow. I only shoot black powder in this. Hopefully this will solve my issue.

Have you cleaned the flash channel of your plug with the appropriate size drill bit?

If the flash hole is less than 0.034", it would be a great surprise to me, if that is the source of your accuracy problems.

If you are shooting sabots it could be the heat. How long are you waiting between shots?

I would agree. A sub .034 flash hole should still be ok for BH209.

I spray out the flash channel with Gun scrubber but haven't used a drill bit on it. Time between shots varies, but I have slowed down to about 10 shots in an hour and a half range session. The gun is cleaned, left to cool a bit then reloaded and shot. So I am roughly 8 ish min between shots. I ordered a cooling rod but haven't got it yet.

The flash channel needs more maintenance than just a solvent. Primer residue in the flash channel can get very hard. Use something like these to clean the channel. Put them in a nut driver handle if needed. They are much easier to hold than a typical drill bit.

gun scrubber is likea carb cleaner only a lot more friendly to parts. It won't remove carbon of any kind.
