Thanks guys! I've never tried running bullets through the die multiple times. But if Bill says it works, I believe him. 78riverrat, I've annealed many solid coppers for my for .416s, but I've tried to anneal a jacketed bullet. If you try please let us know how it works out. squeeze, I am assuming the longer bearing surface of this bullet allows it to stabilize a little better than a bullet with a shorter bearing surface, but I don't know for sure yet. The 100 yard groups look real promising, for being this early in experimenting. I need to shoot more with no wind at 500 to see how well it works out. But so far being able to shoot ~ 1 MOA in a light wind @ 500 yards....I'm liking it. Maybe if Luke comes out with a 375 APB, we will be able to see a significant difference in accuracy with the longer bullet...(hint, hint Luke) I actually built this gun knowing that Luke was coming out with the 335 APB and Keith was coming out with his heavier B.O.M.B. bullets. The barrel is 31" long with a fast 1-17" twist for the heavier, longer bullets. Hopefully I made the right choices on barrel specs...

No 375's planned, but a boattail in the 350-360 range at some point.

If you heat bullets enuf to anneal copper the lead will melt and put off gas and shoot aluminum tips out.

The 335 APBs come through again... After all the talk about shooting at 500 at Friendship I had to haul the stuff out and clean the dust off... B-17 .458 Brux 31" Savage Target action IMR4831 335 APB This will be the last group I shoot to test BC of the 335 APB, since they are all dropping in at the same height. I'm guessing the BC is spot on at .454 Little to no wind...finally! Only thermals to deal with. A big thanks to Mike and Keith for teaching me how to shoot in the wind...even if it's just thermals! Thermals are terrible to shoot in!

Great shooting! One question, do you have a 'final' bullet seating technique? Do you compress the bullet once it touches the powder to a certain poundage? May be difficult to explain? I'm still in the early stages of full forming. I usually tend to seat the bullet harder than when I shot sabbots. Note my 28" PN45 likes looser sizing. It likes light one hand loading with 70gr H4198 and 300gr pill.

Push down heavy and hard on the ramrod when the bullet seats. 3 lights taps on the ramrod with the bottom of my fist, open hand or a mallet. So you get a consistent feel for the pressure you are applying to the powder. Every barrel is a little different when it comes to bullet sizing.

Very impressive shooting and that bullet seems very consistent too.

Less than 1/2 MOA @ 500yds. Great teachers and an excellent student, extremely impressive!

A big thanks to Mike and Keith for teaching me how to shoot in the wind...even if it's just thermals! Thermals are terrible to shoot in! Awesome shooting! After I read this comment thought maybe there could be a thread where people who have shot long distances could make a post of do's and don't's for long range shooting. Like a class of some sorts. I haven't shot this summer (heat, family, and work) but would love to learn from the people who have been doing it longer. Great shooting again love reading these posts.

Great testing of this Bullrt. I pre-ordering some long ago, and finally had Luke send them last week. I was assuming they would be the best BC .45 bullet out there. When I got them I thought I'd like to see some long range testing. My memory wouldn't let me go clear back to May. Earnhardt is like a fairy godmother. He did the exact testing I wanted to see.

Thanks guys! As for a thread about shooting in the wind I'm all for it. But I'm not the guy to start it. I'm fortunate enough to have a range in my front yard, so I can be very selective about the wind/conditions I choose to shoot in. A fair weather shooter of sorts... The competitive shooters on the board who are forced to shoot in whatever conditions there are,the day of the shoot they are at, are the ones who could teach us alot. Like what Mike and Keith did for me.

That would be an interesting load to fire, with a naked barrel [no brake] offhand or on sticks. A true big bommer
