Anybody check this out? 38Super case necked down to 22. Shooting a 40gr hollow point or a pointy like a v-max at 2k fps out of a 5" 1911, Rock Island Armory only so far I seen. Sounds interesting.

2000-2200fps is what I am hearing. A guy from another forum says his is sighted 1in high at 25yd and dead on at 100yd, and penetrates 3/16in steel plate. I could hardly justify shooting at 100yd with an iron sight pistol. But the thought of a v-max from a pistol for both self defense and critter offense sounds cool. First I had ever heard of this. I will do more digging.

I could hardly justify shooting at 100yd with an iron sight pistol. Sometime try this: Start at 25m and move back 25m at a time. Limit it to two shots at each distance. First time you miss twice you are finished. The furthest I can go against an iron maiden with my M&P Pro9 is 275m.

You are way out of my league! Just saying it's not for me. I would be wasting more ammo than I could afford shooting that way. Some guys got it, I don't. You are a rare breed then, and I respect your talent/skill. I will have to stick with a scope! I shoot scoped Encore pistols fairly well. The deer certainly don't like me. Thanks for your input.

I don't think it's practical, but it is fun and confidence inspiring. One of the guys that works for me was shooting some drills with me the other day. When we were finished he just started shooting for fun. He was really happy when he got to where he could hit targets from the draw at 50m. Then I took him over to the long range and we did what I was talking about. He was like a little kid when he hit the target from 250m. I think you could probably do it too.
