need a little help with weighing 209 black horn 209 .. found a few threads about it still cannot make any sense out off it??? Blackhorn 209 VOLUME to WEIGHT calculator: VOLUME in GRAINS BH209 / 1.5 = WEIGHT in GRAINS BH209 OR... VOLUME in GRAINS BH209 X 0.667 = WEIGHT in GRAINS BH209 found this on it ... how do you get the volume and grains to come out right??? do you divide it ?? times it ?? guess i should spend more time learning math in school is it worth the time weighing it always used a measure before ... thanks michael

On westerns powder page they have the formula....I believe you use the .7 factor ...example..100 grains by volume is 70 grains by weight... 100x.7=70
from western powder site
Yes. If you prefer to weigh charges, you can convert the volume load recommendations into weighed grains by multiplying the volume load by 0.7. Example: 100 units by volume x 0.7 = 70 grains by weight. 110 volume charge x 0.7 = 77 grains by weight.

I would recommend weighing blackhorn charges or find a consistent procedure when using a volume measure by tapping charges in measure to get a consistent load. Try dumping powder in volume measure slow or fast or tapping or no tapping and weight each you will probably be amazed at actual weight deference.
