finally completed my build and went out to shoot tonight. Loaded 60 grains of H4198. I'm using Pete's rem CF plug. I built a full form die and bullets fit good. Loaded up the bullet. Was sure I was down all the way to compress the powder. Went to shoot and pop. Just the primer went off. My bullet moved up about 2 inches and burned a little powder but no ignition. Was really surprising. If any body can help me trouble shoot this I would greatly appreciate it. I'm thinking maybe my breech wasn't clear and or I wasn't seating firmly enough on the powder. I've done alot of work and this was a real bummer.
Thanks
TB

I would start with popping a couple primers if you used antiseize on the bushing. It could have been plugged, was this the only shot you attempted?

I anti seized a plug last year and thought I made sure I didn't use to much, 4 misfires and reseats later I pulled the plug and the primers had forced antiseize into the vent liner completely blocking it. Cleaned it off and went way lighter on the AS and it went boom every time after.

Some powder was in my breech threads when I removed it so I had to take it home and clean up the threads. I will try again tomorrow.

I did use anti seize on the breach and ventliner. I'm thinking that is it.

Are you using magnum primers?

Went a out and shot today. The 1st shot went off now problew. I loaded again and my Trigger was stuck. Took the primer out and worked the bolt a few times. Stuck in a new primer case and aim and punched the trigger faster and it fired fine. I'm thinking I need to look at my trigger and or a new firing pin. The gun I used for the build was a 78 Rem 700 243. I should have just replaced the firing pin and spring. Thinking that could be my problem. Atleast I got it to shoot. I'm using federa 215 large rifle primers. I'm leaning towards Trigger or firing pin at this point.
