I have a Browning T-Bolt 22 with a walnut stock. The barrel rides heavily on one side of the stock. If this was a bolt action centerfire with two screws with a recoil lug I would know what to do. But this is held together with one screw and nothing that looks like a recoil lug to bed around. The screw has to take all the stress of recoil or just plain handling. I was thinking that I might bed an area around the screw and some of the barrel just ahead of the action and then float the rest of the barrel. Does this sound reasonable? What do the experts do? DH
