That is some great shooting Luke, and I like the guns and rest. Is the gun a a 45 cal. or another caliber.

Just some random thoughts. If you use a sled, it stops the recoil from getting to the shooter, by doing so it stops the rifle short, doesn't that put all the stress on the rings and scope the weakest part of the rifle setup. perhaps the reason my set up has lasted this long is the shooter takes up the recoil Just thinking out loud

I put foot powder under the feet of the 41 lb Target Shooting Rest. As for barrel jump... I have a different hold when shooting from the bench, than most guys. Most guys have a very loose or no grip on the fore arm...not me. I hang onto the forearm, like I'd hang onto a cat with its ass on fire!

I agree, I pull the forearm firm against my shoulder, that way all the rifle can do is push me, can't hurt
If a shooter were to use a loose hold on the bench with a rifle in the Lott class.....he would be in a world of hurt
