Almost a year later the bullet swaging dies for the .458 and .451 OTM bullets have arrived. I will jam the first test run this weekend.

Have fun punching them out! I'm sure they will be as high of quality as anyone can make. Can you put fortunes inside them for us to find when we dig them out of the dirt?

Can you put fortunes inside them for us to find when we dig them out of the dirt? Honestly, gold would make an excellent core material.

Haha yes it would, I was hoping more for like "you will have a life changing monent on the third full moon of the 7th year." Fortune cookie style! Just want to clarify that this was no jab at pricing or anything that it could be misconstrued as.

This is good news. Let me know if you need any help testing or pressing them out. Danny was just asking me about these bullets yesterday. Weather is looking good and ready to burn some powder!!

Cole,
No offense taken.
Rob, I'll bring you down once I have a system down. You can make some bullets and we can go let them rip.

Keith, What weights do you think your bullets will finish out at? BC estimates as well? Highly interested. Kyle

I won't know weights until I test and shoot some and make sure I have balanced bullets that will maintain point foreward flight. My goal is to make one bullet around 285gn and one around 330gn give or take. The profile is similar to a MH bullet but OTM instead of sharper aluminum tip so BC will be close but likely a little lower than a Match Hunter (weight for weight) but I won't know BCs either until I can shoot and verify them.
Right now I have 600 jackets ready for testing purposes. That should be more than enough to get working prototypes and test batches out to some members for validation.

Keith, I'm sorry I forgot to ask.... What is the jacket thickness? Thanks, Kyle

The jackets I am starting with are .029" at the base and taper to .019 at the nose. I know some guys think that won't work well due to spring back and other ideas but I have a work around I was explaining to a board member the other day. I refuse to say something will or won't work until I test it and prove it. Almost all bullets have tapered jackets so I'm will to try it. The only other real alternative is to make a bullet with a .030" non tapered jacket. I'm willing to try that too but it will wait for now.

I'm jonesin' for some pis and/or a website?? Once I have all the pics I need I'll post the website since this is not the proper venue for free advertising and/or sales. Once it posts all sales and info to follow will be on the site and embedded blog.

Make some 250 grainers for us other guys....please? Drop Drop, I'm willing to entertain the idea but this is part time for me and my civil service eats up a lot of my time. If I can get a 250gn shooting well and there is demand we'll do it but given the bullet design it may not have enough shank to make a balanced bullet.

Earnhardt asked in another thread so here is the answer to what the company name is and potential bullet names :
company license is filed as Kinetic Performance, LLC and since this board seems to like acronyms (BE,MH,EMAX,HIS, etc.) I've considered BOMB (Ballistic ally Optimized Muzzleloader Bullet) or STOMP (Sabotless Technology Optimized Muzzleloader Projectile). I made 7 different weight bullets last night and will shoot them Monday.
Do y'all like STOMP or BOMB better?

FYI: An 'acronym' is an abbreviation that also forms a word...I know that information will make your life complete
In this day and age better go with STOMP
