Earlier in the year I purchased a Remington 243 700 varmint and have yet to get decent glass for it. So I'm thinking that I'm going to take my Nikon prostaff 5 3.5-14x40 custom xr of my sml and use it on my 243. With my ml I feel that kiss (keep it simple stupid) needs to be applied for deer hunting purposes. I am thinking about getting the diamondback HP 3-12x40 with the dead hold hash mark reticle and with my load that I prefer to shoot will give me a hold over to 400 yards.
First, wondering if anyone has had any experience with this scope (I've had a vortex crossfire ii scope and for the money liked it and the Warranty). Second my other question is if you could use this scope as a dial and shoot scope also in a pinch but this scope once zeroed most likely won't be a dial and shoot. Just wondering if you could use this as a dial and shoot and not wear out the adjustment in the scope. If you look at the spec on this scope it has 90 moa of travel. I have limited knowledge on scopes in general and not sure what makes a scope a "zero and leave" and a scope that you can "dial and shoot and return to zero scope?"
