Are you putting this together yourself? Sounds like you could use a chat with one of the builders if you don't intend to do all the work.

Probably wouldn't hurt. I don't see an issue with doing any of the work, but I got a quote for the build and the labor was really reasonable. Thinking about paying to have the barrel put on and the bolt nose kit installed and head spaced. I haven't done a remington trigger job but I have done others. I have bedded a couple stocks in the past,, make the action solid and the barrel float.
What am I missing? Lol

As far as stocks go, can I use any. Stock made for a 700 with my barrel contour? I believe so, if it's for a short action, just be aware you may need bottom metal for some of them.

Short action, yes, but a bottom metal stock won't be needed for converting for a 700ml. If a stock for a factory barrel is ordered, there is a lot that needs to be taken out of the forearm area to fit the larger diameter barrel. In the case of Boyd's stocks, they make no thumbhole stock for a us "lefties" for a full bull barrel stock. I had to take almost too much out of the factory barrel model I got. The ambidextrous Pro Hunter does have a model for a full bull barrel, and I had to take out very little material to float that barrel. The plastic front guard screw bushing which comes in the Remington Boyd's stocks is a joke. I would recommend taking the steel one out of your old stock and use it in the Boyd's stock, if you end up going that direction. I like the Score High pillars, but if they are used, that screw bushing needs to be installed AFTER the pillars are installed, or their tool will get trapped in the pillar (almost did that but rethinked the process in time).

Danno, I meant that some stocks that will fit the 700ml as well as a regular 700sa may need bottom metal when put on a 700ml.
I have a VLS ADL take off on my 700ml, needed bottom metal for the stock so as not to have the mag well area exposed.

Thanks for the replies and links.
I actually think I could change the barrel and do the bolt nose kit. I was just thinking that for 100.00 worth of smith work I would have it set up right without issue. Thanks.

Unless you have a barrel vice, you may need help removing the old barrel.....they can be a bear to remove. For a nominal fee, Luke removed the barrel from a blued action for me. Even with the right equipment, he earned every penny of it!

I probably could have done the barrel and bolt nose, but I gladly paid Luke to do it

It never hurts to see one that's been put together before diving in yourself. I'm sure you can twist your own on builds 2 through 7

On the topic of stocks, on boyds site I could only find a varmint stock specifically for the 700 ml.
But if I buy one for a 700 short action I will be ok?
Starting to get excited about it now.
