What if I took the sling stud out . Then added another one 3" back from that. Would the moving the sling stud 2 1/2 inches back ,make the gun carry a lot different on the sling/shoulder? The 6mm is a bit barrel heave now anyway with the 26 heave barrel and light plastic stock. Think it would try to tip back when your carrying it with the sling and pods ? I hope to make some kind of fast release for the pods and NOT take off the sling.
I ordered a "rail" that I'll put on the Forearm . Relocate the sling stud a little farther back for the sling. Rail kit Then add a quick disconnect for the Bi-pod. When I "walking around" hunting I use sticks quick release If it works out I'll do the same on the 22/250. With the Pods on I cant put the gun in a case. The 6' is way longer anyway so I got a extra long case. It should work

I never could get the accuracy using a bipod with the factory synthetic, at least with my Savage 112. Just too "springy" even if you lean into it. I understand your wanting a clean removal of the bipod without messing with the sling. But you can attach the sling to the Harris bipod, Another option is a side mounted sling option, usually mounted on the left side so the bolt handle and windage knob isn't digging into your back. If your wanting another quick disconnect bipod option look at a Versa-pod. Can be a bit more expensive depending on the model but tons of options, after you buy the picatiny rail and adapter your probly spending the same. The big thing is it can put the hinge point of the legs at least 4-6" farther forward. The cant axis is also closer to the barrel. Then it's single button release off the adapter. Natchez has the econo model for a little over $60, the higher end models have a friction lock on the cant and offer a "pan" (side to side) feature. Then to mount everything a Anshutz rail mounted flush is the berries. It lets you adjust everything plus you can remove everything and shoot off a bag or rest on the bench. I do not know if I would spend the time on a factory synthetic. Usually when someone brings me a rifle like a Savage 10FP with the factory synthetic and want stuff like this I tell them to buy a real stock first.
