I have two ml2 lam stocks 50 cals I have 4 spare breech plugs and they all look to be some what different they are from savage . What size hole should there be the in the middle of them ? I have been using a 21 drill to clean out the plug I am using. When I try the 21 drill in the other 3 plugs one will go the other will not and one is loose these are new unfired plugs Any ideas thanks for the help

Savage contracts their plug orders to the lowest bidder. As long as the part meets the specs on the print then it is a good part. I have not seen a Savage print but I recently made 100 modified plugs for ASG and I had three savage plugs to look at to get the measurements. All three plug samples I have we're different, yet all three will work just fine..
As for the PFC varying in size, that could be due to many things. Some manufactures might use a 21 drill, others might use a 5/32 drill. Depending on weather the drill is sharp or if it is a re sharp with the point off center can cause the drill to make an oversize hole. Also if, when setting up the machine you don't get your drill perfectly center of the part being drilled, then the drill will also make an oversized hole.
To get a perfect size hole you need to either use a boring bar or drill it underside and then ream it..
As for the plugs you have, I would think they are all good plugs and would not hesitate to use them.. Just get a smaller drill to clean the one plug that has the undersized PFC.
