I read in an older issue of Handloader Magazine where Hodgdon's Ron Reiber stated that, "there is no job SR4759 can do that Trail Boss can not do better". However, in searching different post on this board it seems like that is not the case with smokeless ML's. Am I missing something or it just the fact that Hodgdon doesn't condone the use of it's powders in SML?

Low pressure and low velocity loads is all you can get with trail boss. I think there may be some trace info. in the load data section.

I believe Richard tried to use it as a booster check some of his post.

I traced it as a single and a booster (see 36H,60I,61I, 62I,65I,66I,72I in the load archive).Sabotted 45cal loads using it as a booster were temperature sensitive. TG

Trail boss starts doing funny things when it is compressed. I use it in reduced loads in .223 rem but use it primarily in .45 colt cowboy loads. I am always cautious to NEVER use it as a compressed load. From what I've read and experienced on trail boss I would not use it for SML......JMO

Played with it a little (very little) but abandoned it due to lack of energy/volume. Most everyone wants to fire their bullets at warp speed and TB is not the way to go. For a very light load for kids or someone with a disability where recoil might be a problem? OK! Richard

I'm looking for a light load that is good to go in cold temps. 50 Cal. Sabots. No duplex! Thanks for the link. Think I'll pass on the Trail Boss though.
