Looking for some feedback. What are you shooting, how is the hand shock, how would you rate it for quietness, is your current rig newb friendly or would it be better suited for an experienced shooter?
Anyone using the Speed Pro 5.5 or 6.2's arrows?
The early leader is the Diamond Marquis, I like the speed, seems to be quiet from what I can tell indoors, and the ATA should make for a little more forgiving bow since I have been out of the game for awhile. I have also looked at the Diamond Iceman but at that price I might as well go for a Bowtech. Thanks for any info.

Dave, I shoot a Hoyt Lazertec. It was a midline bow in 2006. Vibration was not noticeable until I turned it up for hunting speed. I was able to tame vibration with the addition of an STS and a Scoil stabilizer.
I think it very odd that the new Hoyt Alpha Max looks very much like the Bowtech. You may wish to shoot it as well. Shoot as many bows as you can and be prepared to shell out some big bucks.

I'm still sold on my Mathews Switchback XT. Once the top of the line, it has been moved down the price ladder, making it a relatively good buy. It is absolutely quiet, stable and vibration free while maintaining good velocity. Being a single cam it never needs tuning.

Good speed, their limbs are supposed to be made by them I believe, pretty quiet and shock free. The thing that put me off of it was the counter person said the limbs do not have a lifetime warranty, have not checked into this myself, so it may or may not be true. Thanks and let us know what you think of it.

Ha, there will be some Ford vs Chevy heated debate here.....
In all seriousness though, I shoot a Darton but without a doubt the most shock free bow I have seen or shot so far is the BowTech General. There is no competition. You may think the new Reezen or Katerra is vibration free, but I am telling you to go shoot a General if thats what your looking for. Its in a class by itself as far as vibration goes. Crazy. Just not a real screamer on speed.

Before I bought a new bow 2 years ago, I shoot the Mathews XT, Hoyt's and Bowtechs. I ended up with a Bowtech Tribute. As long as you stay with the name brands, you'll get a very good bow. You need to shoot all of them if you can and make the decision on what fits you the best.

I went over and looked at the Bow Techs again today as well as the Mattews Reezen, the Hoyt Alpha Max is out, $900 is a bit much for my blood, he didn't have the 101st Airborne in yet. High Country Speed Pro as well as the Elite GT500 will be tried out tomorrow. I shot High Country for years and then they sort of fell off the map about the time I quit shooting, the guy that is selling the High Country's & Elite's bragged the heck out of the Speed Pro over the phone.

Drop Yeah it kills me too, this will be my last one probably. I went through the new bow every year kick for a long time, you take a beating in depreciation for sure.

I basically do not contribute here even though my passion is a bow over a gun. I am the most bow-technically-challenged person there is. However, my great friend is a bow tech freak who only shoots Hoyts. He might as well work for them. I am 100% s-p-o-o-n fed on the tech end. I love shooting my bow a lot and I love this bow....I know few others. I realize that my endorsement of this bow and Hoyts carry little weight here.
My bow? A 2003 Hoyt Cybertec. (6 seasons with this one so far) My release? A Scott using a string loop Arrows? Easton Axis 500 Carbons Broadhead? Switched from Wasp SST 3 blade to a one peice 3 blade 2 years ago (Montec?) Rest? Fall away Sights? a 3 pin Hoyt with great full rack adj's and indiv pin adj's Speed? 265 fps with a arrow weight of about 400 gr
Here's what I do: Bring my bow over to my friends house. Hand him my bow and say what do I need? He tells me and then he does whatever it is, I shoot a ton so I change my string every year and cables every 2 yrs. Even though it's a "cam and a half" bow that should not need timing, I get the timing checked often in the months preceding the season. IT DOES NEED SOME!
I tend to become attached to my bow. My last one was a Hoyt Super Slam handed down to me after this same guy used it for 2 years. I had it 9. He finally told me he wouldn't work on it anymore.
With my new set up including Quik-detach quiver and all the other add ons I spent over a grand on hardware. It's as expensive as getting a Savage and tooling up!
My friend also owns an RB bedded Savage and shoots only to get sighted in get ready to hunt. Between the 2 of us we get all our weapons going pretty good.

I only shoot Bowman Accu-Riser custom compounds and Merlin compounds. No others compare in my mind. Here's my target Bowman but they're available in camo too.
