Does McGowen still put their logo's on the barrel?
Are they 8 groove?

None of the barrel manufacturers put their name on the barrel as such. Some have an initial and the barrel dimension stamped into the butt on uncut raw barrels. Nothing on these pre-threaded barrels from the likes of PN, McGowan, Brux, Drieger. Richard

The first McGowens were stamped three times around the barrel which of course did not line up when installed. They really wanted their name on the barrels!!! If McGowen puts the barrel on your action it will more then likely be stamped McGowen 1:22 on left side of barrel. Since your not going that route it will be clean.

Etched or stamped or whatever this is how mine lined up after screwed on action. I think after this and other complaints they stopped etching the barrels. I sent the barreled action to them and they blasted it off but it was still visible along with where it was also previously etched .270Win. This was before Luke was open for business.
