Anyone using the Caldwell field pod? Just looking for reviews from shooters who use them in hunting situation.

I have been using one for the last two years and so has a good friend. We both love them. Some say you need a fancy expensive field rest so you will have to make your own decision.

Do you already own a decent tripod?

I use one for both of my young daughters so they can shoot some guns and crossbows that they can't hold up on there own. And the oldest daughter uses it when we gun hunt

I have one and love it! I have taken several deer with it. It's stable, adjustable, and lightweight. The only time it doesn't go with me is when I still hunt.

Cabelas has them on sale for $70 IIRC. No idea if that is a good price.

My girls love it. Make 200yd shots very comfortable even for my 12yr old. Well worth the money IMO.

I have both but I like the magnum version the best. Pictured is a setup I used this year for a 287 yard shot. The magnum is set to its' lowest position and is super steady.
