I bought this gun new. It has been a super reliable tack driver. Stainless 50 Cal, using Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40, 2.5# trigger 150gr pyrodex and Hornady SST.
Groups excellent at 100, very well at 200 and has three kills over 250, longest 267yds.
I have been told the early versions were the better barrels, and different twist.
Anyone have a link where I could research my serial numbers and find out which I have? My serial number begins with 000....so I assume it an early one.
I have since moved on to smokeless and thought about selling this one since its mint, but I wanted to research more before listing

All Knight Extreme and DISC Elite 50cals were 1-28 twist. There is no difference in barrel quality. They are the same Green Mountain barrels they have always used. Personally i like the Elite the best. The lighter contour balances better than an Extreme or LRH. The new Mountaineer U-Lite is even slimmer and lighter.
The only real difference is brand new Knights are using Ultra Bore Coat which you can buy and coat it yourself if you wanted.

The fast twist came only in the original Disc it was a 1 in 20. If your gun is blue and the serial number is less than 2000 it might be a one in twenty if it's a 45 caliber. If it's a stainless 45 and its serial number is less than 5000 then it might be a 1 in 20. All fifties are one in twenty eight with the 52 being a one in twenty six.

Thanks guys for the replies.
It is indeed a ss 50. If you had one in mint condition....what should it be worth? Has black tupperware stock

Depending on any accessories and condition, truly mint I'd list for $300 or so. I do agree they are great values as a quality muzzle-loader.

I have a Disc Elite with a low 800 serial number. It's a very accurate gun, as are most Knights with the proper loads. The stock design for this model has a " V" molded in and a lug on the barrel that fits in it very tightly. The end result is very much like glass bedding it. Gun is very compact and easy to handle, no iron sights and a tapered barrel. It, like my other 2 Knights have a bare primer breech plug by Lehigh. Best upgrade I've ever made to my rifles in the last 10 years. I use it when I' m in a tree blind or when I spot and stalk.

I have a Knight Master Hunter SS 50 caliber I bought when they first came out It came with 2 Forest green stocks one being a Thumb Hole. The serial # is in the low 200 Can't remember the exact number but it's a fantastic shooter. I haven't hunted with it for a very long time. I have to use it as I sold my Savage smokeless due to a health issue for the January ML'er season. So I have 2 tins of B H-209 I weighed out 70 and 80 grains on my scale On the advise of a friend that uses the latter load in his Disc Extreme. Being away for some time does the load seem excessive using 250 grain SST bullets?. Thanks Lou

A Knight MH will handle those loads just fine. I highly recommend a new bare primer conversion when using BH209 in the Knights. I heard someone had a few of the original Lehigh conversions for sale. It might have been on Ebay but im not sure. Knight is out of that style. ATM they only list the Mountaineer "style" conversions. www.knightrifles.com/product/209-bare-primer-conversion-kit/This person did have some awhile back. Might be the same seller i heard about more recently. Its much cheaper than the one on Knights website ginatruckley@ymail.com

No, not excessive. My rifles use 110gr by volume which is 77gr weighed.
Your 70gr weighed is 100gr by volume, 80gr weighed is approx. 114gr by volume.
Manufacture says 120gr by volume or 84gr weighed max load.
I purchased my bare primer conversion from the address listed above (ginatruckley@ymail.com). It's a great upgrade and well worth the price.
