This is a little off base but I was wondering if anyone had a Hornady Manual that listed data for their 350 gr. XTP Mag for the S&W 500. I'm wanting to use them out of my Knight MK-95 54 cal. but don't know if I can push them hard enough to expand. I'm looking for a velocity range.
Thanks.

The 9th edition says 1200-1800fps for the 350 XTP mag design range

Thank you, I'm pushing them with 100 gr. BH209 so I think I'm in the middle but I don't have a chrono so I'm only guessing.

You should be fine, I push 300-325 grain projectiles with 110 grains of BH209 right at 1975-2000 Fps with my Traditions LDR.

Hornet,
I use the same thing in my Thunderhawk but only get about 1350 with 100 gr of BP. I cannot tell you if it expands on not. I can tell you that the two deer that my buddy took with my gun and this load were very dead and had pass thru's. .50 cal and 350 gr of mass is a CHUNK and a large size hole. You will have no worries.
My sabots are purple and I cannot remember the brand since the package has been long ago discarded. Also, these are 2 MOA or better at 100 yds.

I'm with Wilms with a .5 bullet you don't have to worry much about expansion.
