It seems to me that this project could be done if someone can make me a bushing breech plug that takes the cut down cartridge cases. Then I could switch out the factory breech plug and maybe have to switch the bolt head to fit the cartridge head. I like the locking lugs and easy bolt removal of my original 10ml but I would like to eliminate the leaky modules and vent liners. Is there anyone out there that can make me a new improved bolt head bushing plug for my rifle and set me up with the proper cut down cartridge cases and bolt head?

Dan Pete makes one. Just replace your .223 bolt head with a .473 and you can use cut down cases.

Like Dave said Pete makes a nipple breach plug for the ml1. Just my opinion since I haven't talked to Pete on the subject with a little bit of input he could make a plug that would be able to use the .223 bolt nose but it would be easier to change the bolt nose. If it was something you are in a hurry for I could send you one to try. Again just my openion I would talk to him about making one that worked with cut down brass with out the nipple.

Could you order a 209 bolthead and a new Savage plug from smokelessmz.com to make it work?
If so get the Savage plug with a primer seat for headspacing and no bulge clean fired 209 primers.

45omega. there are many ways to skin a cat. It all depends what you want to end up with? From what I have heard the 209 bolt nose is great.

Where do I find contact info for Pete? Jon I appreciate the offer but I am not in a hurry. I will wait until I can work something out as I want the total package. I want a breech plug that has the bushing in it, the .473 bolt head installed, and some cut down cases that fit it. My rifle has been fitted with a factory laminated stock, the iron sights are the updated fiber optics and it has a very low round count for its age. It is very accurate and I am wanting to finish the up grade.
