Bought a converted(by slufoot) TC Kathadine from a gentleman on this site. Got it sighted in today. Previously, had a SMI barrel that was stolen, and have a Savage ML. The barrel loads extremely hard. I've used Shockwave and Hornady 200 gr. bullets and Barnes 195 expanders. All of them are hard to start, and down the tube. Maybe it's normsl? I'm concerned about 2nd shots in hunting situations. Is there a solution or is it just something I need to adjust to?

If your using the smooth blue Harvester sabots and its very hard to load order the blue crush rib Harvester sabots and your issues should be solved.

I have a slufoot Encore conversion and the first one down a clean bore is tough, but after the barrel gets fouled they load just fine. Haven't had mine long so it may be that I am still used to loading those tight 50/.45 SST sabots down the ole Omega!

+1 on the blue crush rib. All three of my Encore conversions are crazy tight with the regular light blue, but the crush rib loads much easier.

Got the crushed rib sabots in yedterday. They are still tite, but maybe a tad easier to load. I'm recovering from stomach surgery so it could be I'm just weak on muscle yet
Any, now I'm thinking to open the muzzle a bit to eliminate a short starter, such as some factory MZs offer (QL). Any disadvantages to this especially with the already short bsrrel of the Kathadine T/C.
Also, I added a under barrel ramrod yesterday. Stripped the pillers from a T/C ml barrel, drilled the out a tad, found two short screws to attach, milled them down a bit to accept the rod, the attached the ML forearm. Doesn't need a front thimble because it already so short. Cut down a powerrod to complete the pkg. Now it even looks like a ML.

Have you cleaned the bore good since receiving the barrel? JB or 40x Bore Cleaner works well followed by oiled patches.
