I don't think anybody is chopping down Apex barrels to have a drop. If you want a drop IMO cut an inch off your barrel. Do you really want to shoot heavy full form .458 bullets thru an Apex?
McFly.....don't email or call Bergara about drops or converting their barrels.

Maybe buy another barrel and see if you can get a few members to help pitch in for cost. Then cut it up and use the sections you cut up as barrel drops.
Just a suggestion.
If people are not chiming in probably because no one has one. Just my opinion.

If they find out what you want it for they will flip out. They did when I asked a simple question if all bergara barrels were made of the same quality steel. The answer was yes, but they went off on a rant about them not being used for smokeless ML, even though that's not what I asked.
For the record, none of their reasons against made sense or held water, in my opinion.
Actually it was the head of BPI, the parent company.
