Well I got a chance to try some 270 MH at 600 yards today. I am very pleased with the results. I shot at a 8 inch metal gong. My drop chart called for 17 MOA I put 18.MOA on and the first shot hit the metal gong almost dead center. Number #2 also hit the gong.
The first #2 bullets went down the barrel fairly tight. Two hands on the ram rod. Next load was with looser bullets almost to the point of being to loose. Gun fired normally. This shot went low. Added another minute up which gave me 19 MOA up. Missed to gong to the right by about 8 inches but elevation was good. Conditions were windy. I reloaded and held left about 8 inches left and hit the gong. Shot #5 was fired by my friend and he also hit the gong.
So I have got to say my gun really likes the new 270 MH. The accuracy was just as good with a tight bullet as with a looser one. I believe the extra 20 grains of bullet helps with ignition. Because I don't think the 250 SST would have gone off with such a loose fit. Also I hade made changes to my plug to make it more efficient so its working really good. Next test will be in winter cold temps. If it goes off at 10 degree's I will be very happy.
73grs of IMR4198 and a wonder wad. No duplex needed. velocity 2900 fps.
So I believe the B.C. is probably about .340 or so it really doesn't matter. Its accuracy that counts.
Love those Parkers.

I love the parker bullets also... If it wasn't for them I don't know what I would be shooting.... Jeff.
