I've got a minox zv 3 on my h&r converstion. I'm shooting 58grs of N120. The scope was brand new back in march. I sighted it in back in the spring and ain't shot it since. First shot today had it hitting low and to the left. I made the proper adjustments and shot again and it hit 2-3 inches high. No matter what kind of adjustments I made I could not get it to adjust down. In fact it would respond to downward adjustments by moving up. Do you guys think 58grs of N120 is too much or do you think I just got a lemon? Gonna put a redfield revolution on it and sight in with it.

What kind of rings/bases is it mounted in? These SML's are hard on scopes for sure. The load you're shooting is light compared to what some folks shoot, I know you have to take into account the weight of your gun, so I'm sure recoil is substantial, but it's still no where near the recoil some others are experiencing. That's JMO I would first look at your mounting system and make sure it is adequate and mounted properly. (Not saying it isn't or wasn't) just check it out, but it sounds like your scope took a dump....

I have purchased 2 Minox's and both of them had to go back.. the first one was a 3x9 and the rear eyepiece came loose. I bought a 4x20 last year and got it in 2 days before deer season.. mounted it on a brand new 308 and was bore sighting it and the top turret mechanism just came apart in my hands!!! Luckily I got my money back but I had to buy an overpriced scope at Gander Mtn just to be able to hunt with the rifle during my vacation.. I love the clarity of the scopes.. but I will buy a Zeiss over a Minox any day.

SML will test your scope. A year and into the next season and it survives, it's a keeper. I've sent 3 back off my SML rifles and 2 of them now rest on 22WMRs. Best, not torn up broke, so far are 2 of my old steel tube weavers and a bushnell and a banner that came off slug guns. tried, tested, proven. old guys have old stuff that still works - 10

L have been using a Leupold VX-111 3.5-10 X 40mm on my orginal savage, bought it in 2001 same day I got the rifle, it must have 35000 miles on it air, truck, buggie, many rounds lots with 42 lbs of recoil, and like a Timex watch it keeps on ticking. But Rooseman says they don't build them as good now....believe him. 400 gr Barnes buster all cooper bullet, 74grs of Benchmark orange sabot [.458] since I don't use a sled it comes back......... stout Leupold QD rings and bases
