It should work just fine.. It's listed as 93 on the burn rate chart IMR 4198 is 71 and IMR 4350 is 113. So it will work but you will have to start with a respectable amount and work your way up, checking velocity.. I'm sure someone on on this board has used it... Good luck. Jeff..

I tried Varget(very close to 4064) but I think you almost need to duplex with a starter powder to get a decent burn--especially with a lighter bullet.
They did have some H4198 at Powder Valley recently.

Would not be my powder choice with a light sabotless land rider bullet. Probably around 15 gr. of Clays under maybe 60 gr. of the 4064. This will give you an idea of velocity and accuracy. You could then work up from there. I tried 5 gr. of Clays with 75 gr. of 3031 (which is faster than 4064) with a 300 gr. bullet and only got 2500 fps out of it. Edge had suggested I might need more like 15 gr. of Clays under the 75 gr. of 3031. My thought here is why shoot that much powder when you get get the velocity and accuracy you need with much less of 4198?.............Now if you are unable to get 4198 then you are stuck with the slower powder you have. I know Deadeye shot a little with it during his 327 MH Crusade. I thought maybe Richard had tried it, the only other person that comes to mind would be Moto357.

w/327 shot some of almost everything around this burning rate powder from varget to 4350 & some duplexes/problem was obturation/speed & I came across the opinion 4064 may be better suited for 400gn+ bullets/long barrel & possibly full-formed in .45/jmho
better suited for the ole 30-06/imo
