i have a dumb bullet question ......what determines what a barrel likes weight or diameter or both . i have several t/c .50 that shoot bh209 two like Dead center 220 grn the third doesn't like anything lite or with a .40 cal bullet and sabot , but green harvester and a .430 / 44cal 300 grn xtp clover leafs at 100yrds . with 100 gr by volume bh209

I believe it can be either or a combination. I've always been of the belief, that the larger bullet to the barrel size with a thinner sabot was best. All the T/C Encores or Pro Hunters I've owned, shot bullets of .451" and at least 250grs better than any other bullet. 107grs BH and a Barnes 250 TMZ was my best load.

Omega rifles have a poor recoil lug setup so definitely laminated stock is going to shoot much better than synthetic . I would recommend 90 grain by volume with Barnes tez 250 gr bullet for synthetic guns . 100 gr by volume with Barnes tez 290 bullet for laminated gun.
If you can action bedding and a large diameter pillar with step washer for action screw will definitely help.

That's interesting , the thumb hole is the one that is finicky the laminates are tack drivers with the light DC bullets and 100 by volume BH 209. Guess thats y they say every gun has its own diet of what it likes . I also have a regular laminate stock that i tried to switch onto one of the synthetics for some reason accuracy went south . ML are touchy

Bedding in a laminated stock imo would help greatly.
