Is anyone in northern il that would be willing to sell a front trigger screw for a rem 700? I ordered one from midway but it is on back order and I was really hoping to shoot Saturday! No one around here stocks them!

No one around here stocks them! Just that little front trigger guard screw? Shoot without it. I don't bother putting it in half the time. Do you need SS or blued? I can send you one.

Yes, the front on a BDL stock. You don't feel it causes consistency issues? I actually have a lead for one at a local gun shop. I am going by there tomorrow. If not I will contact you Luke. I need stainless.

The front screw of a BDL stock? Or the ADL style stock that your 700 ML came with?

A bdl you definitely need that screw. Luke was for sure recommending not having it if it was the #8 screw for an adl trigger guard.

If its the front BDL screw you should be able to find a 1/4-28 screw at the Hardware store. Buy it long and cut it down a little at a time making sure you get it in at least 3 turns. 3-1/2 turns can bottom the screw into the barrel threads which is bad.

I have literally looked at every hardware store around. No one has it. I looked at lowes, menards, Home Depot, sears hardware, and fastenal. Hopefully this gun shop two towns over pans out. I never thought a screw would be on back order for so long with midway.

I order my screws thru the Remington Country Store. I have plenty of the #8s laying around. I replace the #8 with a regular 1/4-28 and install a 3rd pillar on my builds. I hate having to have 2 or 3 different allen wrenches to remove the action.

If Luke doesn't have that screw, I do.
