Something like that is my plan if Pacnor won't fix it.

I am very interested in one or more stainless Savage direct replacement plugs. If someone can message me how to reach the right person, I would be grateful. boarhog

Cecil at Precision Bullets makes one, but it has a shoulder for the primer. OK for a Savage that can have the headspace reset, but not so good for a 700ml conversion. Jeff Hankins is making some for Luke, but I think they will all be setup for bushings. There may be a copy that Pete makes, I would ask Luke at Arrowhead.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with the pa Pete ss version of the savage plug. They headspace very tight on the 700ml and allow the best primer support for 209's IMO

rangeball, After talking with Bill you are only removing 1/2 to one thousands at a time so it would take a long time and a lot of arm strength before re-head spacing is needed. Hope this helps, Exactly! A little lapping with the plug too maybe. And Dave D got my PM and is looking into it Chuck. Fish hawk or Greg thank you for all your assistance really appreciate it.

I thought the enforcer might be able to fix this mixup without a problem. Thanks for helping out Dave!

At least for my 10MLII, Cecil's BP did not work so well. I headspaced with the primer in, got it tight and THOUGHT it was headspaced off the primer. After seeing a lot of carbon blowback, I inspected the BP and saw a shiny half moon around the end of it where the primer holder on the bolt had been rubbing on the BP. The problem was easily solved in a lathe, but someone without access to a lathe could have a hard time correcting it. But it could be just my bolt head.?. Again, with a lathe, the PR BP can be fitted for a 700ml conversion, but it takes a lot of very small increments, and a lot of time, but my 700 is now able to shoot well with one.

I got my barrel back from pacnor and they did square up the barrel area that mates to the shoulder of the plug. Nice and smooth now. They also bead blasted my barrel again to remove all the marks I put on it and oiled it all up and sent it back to me as if it was a new barrel. It may have taken a while but I am very happy with the work they did.
Thanks again to fishhawk and Dave D. for helping me to get pacnor to work with me.
Can't wait to see how she shoots and seals now.
Currently in the process and working with a tool I got from hillbill to put a mirror like finish on the barrel and breech plug to get as smooth a finish as possible on these two mating surfaces.

So let's say you have the same problem as Onecardchuck but you are not as experienced or smart so you don't notice it. Will something eventually happen that will bring it to your attention? Will you suffer significant problems (like loss of a lot of power or bad blow back) if you don't fix it?

Both of my Pacnor have this same issue. You will gas cut the sealing surfaces and the threads will start seeing more pressure. Luckily on mine, the breechplug got cut and not the shoulder in the barrel. I have the tool now to fix mine and install new breechplugs.

Excessive carbon blown back around the bolt and/or cutting on the sealing surface of the plug would be the signs of this.

Pay close attention to your blowback. Around the threads of the plug indicate leakage. Unfortunately by the time you notice it may be to late. I'm on round 2 with the sister barrel to onecardchucks chucks. These seem to occur worse as we go toward sabot less and increase pressure's. Drop
