Went to range today. Shot 3 70 gr 4198 and a 275 mh. Then shot 2 duplex of 10 g 4759 and 60 gr 4198. In paper no difference in accuracy. All 5 very nice group. Temp was about 85. Just wanted to see if poi was different It wasn't.

Why I didn't shoot like that at KC. Have no Idea. Maybe it was the 10 hr drive. Lots of beer and not going to sleep till 4 am.
The gun shoots. Any deviation is all operator error.

That's good to know. That duplex load is my hunting load and I often thought of finding a single load with the same poa so I don't have to mess with a duplex if a followup shot is ever needed.

I was surprised the 10/60. 4759/4198 and straight 70 gr 4198 would shoot Same poi. That was goal today. I plan on shooting 4198 unless temps fall into the low digits.
Hill bill makes a great shooter.
It's a .30 bushing. I have yet to have a no fire. I may want to try the .40. Be glad when it cools down some.

Randy that looks to be about a .750 group, pretty darn good for two different loads..next shoot I will have a different rest to shoot from,I think you shot from the sled some, that makes a big difference in accuracy. I brought the sled to keep the pea shooter from kicking my tale, its not the best for accuracy shooting. what kind of rest were you shooting from?
we will all be tuned up for next year, when my parts get in I will take a pic and throw it out there, my rig for next year will be a little more competitive, I however will be one year older and a little more feeble.......LOL

Nice shooting Alabama! Hillbill...........I think if you had a sled set up like mine, you would change your mind about the accuracy thing? I had always thought like you but after shoulder surgery, I needed the sled if I wanted to shoot the ML. Two weeks after the surgery I was banging away with a borrowed sled. Once I got the thinking about it and looking the Lead Sled DFT over, I decided I could make it work just like shooting my 45 lb. heavy 1K gun. I shortly thereafter bought my own and modified it. I have never looked back. Richard

I can shoot some pretty decent groups with mine but I like the front rest/rear bag better. I have thought about putting rollers and a track set up on one with springs. one more thing to think about

Hard to do with most any center fire. Nice chootin.

Bill, it was from my sled.
I just hope it will hold that same Zero when weather gets cooler. Counting down days for my first year/deer with a SML.

it will stay very close, when it gets cold (30s)or lower you will loose about 60-75 fps, not a deal breaker until you go very long..
if those are 1/2" squares that's a lot better than .750, didn't even notice the square size related to the hole size.. they appear to be more in the 3/4" range by looking at the hole size, whatever the case that's a good group..

I can shoot like that too, the problems show up when I push the range out past 10 yards...
Just kidding. Ridiculously good shooting.

Couple questions on Duplexing.
1. Do you pour the faster burning powder first then the slower powder on top = two seperate vials?
2. Would a Duplex load help get complete powder burn in a shorter 23" tube with H4198?

Yes and without looking at traces, the boosted load should have a steeper and shorter rise to peak pressure with less time under the curve.
