Fellas just got chance to see all the encouraging words and thanks. Shoot report me and brother Greg had rough outing today. Greg shot a near perfect match true 3 relays 149/150. Then groups really struggled at 200 m and 300m. He finished with219/250. Score.
Me on other hand was way off my game today and never felt comfortable on bench today . Im not big for excuses and i have a top notch weapon. I definitely need more range time with new hankins knight. I shot great at 50 and 100 yds then groups exploded at 200yds and beyond. I take a day to get my mind rite and regroup. Will be back next Saturday to redeem myself will be shooting500 yd match and then aggregate match of 100,200,300,400 yds silouhettes. Im most upset that i feel let jeff Hankins Down a bit he busted his butt to get a fine gun ready. But i will get it rite. Fyi i shot a 212/250 which is horrible in my mind. Spring nationals i shot243/250 to win. I have a question for board brothers gun shots ballistic extreme300 sub moa out to 200yds then groups explode. 2400 fps 1-22 twist. But 327 match hunter aren't as good under 200 but groups tightened past 200 to 500? Confusing.. God Bless . ,Bestill

Positive visualization. Imagine it happening like it is supposed to, see it in your head, and make it happen. It works for guys in the NBA shooting free throws, guys going into gun fights, and dudes slinging lead in Friendship. Good luck.

I thought the Kentucky shoot was the only muzzleloader competition in the country! It's the only one that counts, ..... These big national shoots are just to much pressure... Lol.. The friendship visit was a good time.. Lots of things to see and old timers of yesteryear to talk to.. People dressed in 1800's attire, carting old flintlocks, and smoking pipes. All in all there must have been more than 100 exhibitors and a blacksmith shop hammering out some knife blades... Me and the girlfriend spent most of day there walking around. Time well spent... Jeff

Update im setting at kitchen table having coffee with window up and they are making the smoke roll. I live up the howler 5 miles and report is loud and clear. So today regroup my mind and go praise the lord and day of rest. Size some bullets and prepare for next Saturday. A good report from yesterday shot55 rounds with new gun and it performed flawlessly. No sticking No bulge, No hange fires. Monday at my own range will do some load work and size adj. Friendship competition is mentally challenging alot of shots in a timed relay and posting targets then turn target into range office keeps a fella very busy but i love it. But im new to this game and humbly learned alot yesterday. Thanks all for support. BESTILL

Bestill,
Hang in there and good luck. Friendship is a remarkable experience and every muzzle loading enthusiast should go there at least once in their lifetime.
Some good memories from there in the 70's and early 80's mostly on the primitive side but took my turns staffing gunmakers hall too.
The national match will bring the best out of you, Bestill...bear down :-)

I would like to have seen you and your mustache, all dressed up, bombing around Friendship carrying that phenomenal little flinter you have hanging on your mantle. Seems appropriate for a born and bred NC highlander. One of these days I am going to attend.
I think bestill has his game plan sorted out and I expect he is about to hurt some peoples' feelings in the next match.

A couple of really nice deer for sure! We have family in Jackson, KY (Breathitt) county. I have seen pics of several deer over the years that have those tines angled out like yours. Very unique. Congrats.

It looks like someone took the main beam off another dear and glued them on that buck to make it look like it had huge brow tines.
