Hello everyone. I am looking to get into smokeless muzzleloading. I am experienced reloader and regular old black powder shooter. I have lurked for quite some time, but figured I might as well dive in head first. Seems to be a great place to learn about this new venture. - Brandon

Welcome aboard,Brandon. Smokeless is fun and many of us still enjoy the flintlocks as well.
All the best,
Mike
PS: there are quite a few of us Carolinians here

Haha I hear that. Likely looking at possibly two builds. One off of a rem 700ml and possibly a CVA Apex unless I can be convinced otherwise.

If you do a break open conversion I would seriously consider Jeff Hankins. I would also suggest a good barrel such as a Douglas or slightly more expensive cut rifled barrels such as Brux or Kreiger. The Kreiger would be a considerable wait and for a hinge pin gun may not be worth it.
If you supply the lug he can weld and fit it on, install his BP system and the rest is just a gut pile.

Brandon welcome and hello from Greensboro NC. I have a savage ML-ll I bought new three years back. I have enjoyed it, and cursed it as well. I keep going back to it because it attracts me, since it has been a challenge. My gun is a pain in the neck to be honest. But I wont give up and hope to learn real quick from this place. Thinking custom barrel. Good luck with your pursuit.
