I would greatly appreciate input and people's thoughts on weather or not a home made vibrating case and or gun parts cleaner I'm thinking of making would not just clean spent brass and dirty firearm parts, but do so without risk of damaging the brass casings or gun parts. Please keep in mind this is my first design ruff draft more or less off the top of my head and will undoubtedly need refining and modification before it can go from paper to real world existence.
Now for the components I would begin with keep in mind these few components are at this earliest stage of development the most basic parts I would need simply to get my design concept started.
First item I need to buy is some type of component that will give me the ability to generate the vibrations necessary to clean. For this item of my DIY V/C i was going to buy a small 1/4 HP 110V concrete vibrator from Chicago Pneumatic for $39.95
Next I will obtain a small tub like container with lid made of eithor chemical resitent plastic or steel, which ever is cheapest and readily available.
From these two components I wil then have figure a way to attach or place the vibration element so as to maximize it's usefulness. At this stage I'm thinkg of keeping it to table top in size but that can change to a increase in size if that is what will work best.
I also plan on using strictly 100% fumeless non flammable cleaning solvents be they commercially or home made so as to eliminate any potential fire or explosion hazards.
If this DIY design will work I'm reasonably certain I can build vibrating cleaner that will serve all of my brass and firearms cleaning needs for under $100 VS a commercially made cleaner costing the same that will be limited to only cleaning small quantities of brass and litle else.
So now for all those reading this, their thoughts on my DIY vibration cleaners feasibility and design suggestions and or modifications, as well as what to use as a container or any other component suggestions along with where to obtain them.
Please keep in mind concerning all suggested components that the entire reason behind this DIY cleaner is to build it as cheaply as possible, so please only affordable component suggestions.
Thanks,
Arthur
