Years ago I bought a huge supply of Harvester 45/40 sabots. Now nearly out. There are 2 types now: Crush Rib and EZ Load. Which do I want? I think EZ Load. Thanks, Steve

Hello Steve, I'm pretty sure you will want the Harvester smooth blue sabots, part # H4540B.
GOOD SHOOTING! Slufoot

I have a converted TC barrel and it is tight to me. I used smooth blue and often thought I might be "stretching" them in loading and second shots on a dirty barrel were a hard load, well having a clean barrel makes that better but I tried the crush rib sabots and see no difference in accuracy, excellent with both but the crush rib load easier with clean or dirty barrel. I lightly knurl all bullets that go into sabots. If smooth were working just go with a pack of them. If all works out OK then get another decades supply. JMHO, 10 ga

Steve, I can send you a few of each so you will be sure which one you want. Just pm me your mailing info. Thank all of you. I'd planned from ordering from Luke as I feel we need to support "our own". None of my 4 PacNor barrels had loaded tightly nor does the converted HandiRifle , so the smooth should work well. I'll also order a pack of the others to try. My experience with TC, both ML and Encores, is that they have relatively rough barrels and foul fairly quickly and develope heavy build-up. I'd thought maybe the same for the NEF but this doesn't seem to be the case. I love my HandiRifle . Thanks Slufoot! Again, thank you all, your responses and offer was typical of this board.

My results mirror what 10Ga has stated. I bought a couple packages of the crush rib just to try. My results were nearly the same accuracy, perhaps slightly less with the crush, and also nearly the same loading pressure. On top of this I could shoot either sabot @100 yards with nearly identical point of impact. It may well be in my mind but I believe the smooth had a slight edge. I will admit I never shot the crush beyond 100 yards.

Steve if you get in a bind I'm pretty sure I have a pack or two of the smooths. Just say the word.
